Reunited

And it felt so good.

The kids and I headed to the beach with my parents and Anne and Davy a few weeks ago. Everything was just as we had left it back in the fall.

Except it was much hotter.

And there were a few more people.

Other than that, life was good.

Here's a pic just like one from the fall except I think these kiddos have grown a few inches since then.

Another pic just like from the fall...Courtney goes straight for the water and Garrett watches for a while before he warms up to the water.

He's just happy in the sand with his best green bud.

Courtney sportin' new shades.

Here's some more pictures....I've been meaning to get all of our adventures posted, but I have just run out of time! Of course we went to see the turtles and a bunch of other stuff, so you can check it all out in pictures.

It was [THIS] big

Once upon a time, Davy, Daddy, and myself went fishing with cousin Mike.

We went far, far out in bay to where nobody has ever gone before.

Captain Mike made it so easy. All I had to do was dream big dreams of a big fish and turn the reel.

And I got a strike!

This fish put up a much bigger fight that the pictures show.

It was so fun.

This redfish was too big to keep. Something about it not tasting good if it is too big. I just listen to the professional, take his word and make sure there is proof in the pictures.

Then he says that if you kiss the fish that it will turn into a handsome prince. I told him that I already have a handsome prince so maybe if I kiss it it will make North Korea go away. That would make me happy.

Then Daddy caught a big fish.

And he kissed his fish, too, in hopes that North Korea would go away and mind their own business.

Then Davy caught a fish. That stinky photographer forgot to get him kissing his fish. He did though. All in a sacrifice for world peace.

It really was that big. No lie.

Catching big fish and solving the world's problems. That's what we're all about here.

Thanks Captain Mike for a REALLY fun day!

I just don't even know where to start...

We have been extremely busy.

A very FUN busy, but busy nonetheless.

The month of June has flown by with a flurry of big events.

Surgery, weddings, birthdays, parties, vacation, and more.

I just don't even know where to start.

Forgive me if everything that I post in the next few days makes no sense! I'm going to try my hardest to update the blog before we head out on our next adventure.

A guessing game....

Anybody wanna guess what the heckola is going on in this picture? It's just a preview of some fun days we've had!

(If you are one of the 4 people in this world that know the answer, then don't guess!)

I know, I know, I'm kinda weird sometimes. :)

Creative Genius or Wanna Be Trucker?

I'll let you be the judge.

I just couldn't resist grabbing the camera when I saw this gem as we were coming home from Houston last weekend.

He has all the elements of being able to haul a big load....minus the big body of a truck. An economy sized hauler. Why hasn't anybody else thought of this yet? I would much rather have this sized vehicle to weave in and out of on the interstate than a big 18-wheeler.

He's got his pipes. We rolled the windows down and they do sound like real pipes. Oh, I mean, they are real pipes. He's got the mud flaps. He didn't forget the extended mirrors. The cow bell hanging from the back? Anyway. I had to share. I couldn't not share.

Only in Texas. (maybe in Kentucky, too)

Mama Tried Again

****Ok, I'm copying and pasting this post to my photography site until I can get my margins fixed over here.

I think I've established that it's near impossible to get a posed picture of my children together. But, I'm not giving up.

We were out in the yard playing and I just asked them to get together so I could get a picture. No pressure. I even offered M&M's as a reward. It works for potty training. Not for pictures. It's sad when I dread trying to get a picture of them together more than potty training.

Why Courtney feels it necessary to put Garrett in a headlock every time I'd like a picture of them is something I haven't figured out yet.

And, of course, sticks are way more fun then just looking at the camera one time and smiling...

I finally convinced them to drop the sticks. An ok pic, but surely we can do better. Maybe.

Maybe not...

But it was good of Courtney, so I saved her. I love digital photography for this reason.

Garrett gives the no more, no way sign. I don't give up that easy though.

Now he's serious, "Look here mom, I said I was done."

"Fine lady, just one to melt your heart...be quick though."

I just love that one of him. There's just something cute and innocent about it.

I will keep trying for a good one of the two of them. Maybe one day...or maybe not. I'm not seeing the cup half full at this point. BUT, I do believe in miracles. :)

It's A Hat Day (or maybe a scarf)

I think that my sister would agree with this.

A hat day in my book is a day that you relax, you don't care about your hair and you just wear a hat. Oh, yes, this is a normal for me. I have lots of hat days, but Anne doesn't get that luxury as often when she works every day in the out-patient clinic.

Well, this week, she was in in-patient and she was the patient.

She had her 3rd and final heart ablation on Monday. It was a doozie. She was in surgery for 10 hours but they think they got it this time. She is so strong. That's just alot to withstand. The "gurus" worked patiently and were very determined to make it work this time. Time will tell, but so far they are confident that the outcome will be good.

She got to go home today. I know she is glad to get home. Austin is a great place, no offense, I love visiting. I'd just rather visit when it doesn't involve the nice folks at St. David's on 32nd.

Mom and I got her a scarf to wear yesterday because she was tired of "hospital hair". She may be wearing her scarf or her hat today on the way home....but all I can say is HATS OFF to Anne...she is so strong! The recovery may be a little slower this time due to how long they worked on her, but she is doing good right now.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and support during all of this!

XOXO, Kathy
