McGregor actually has it's own Amtrack station and it's less than 3 minutes from the house. We got on and rode to Ft. Worth and then had 20 minutes to get on the next train back. I highly recommend train travel with little ones. You can get on the lounge car and there is plenty of room for coloring and games. They loved it!
The guy that takes your ticket (if you look close you can see him at the door of the train) really does have one of those hats like Sir Toppam Hat from Thomas. Garrett called him that...it was so cute!

Meme, Courtney, Charlene, and Abby at the Ft. Worth station.

Thank you Charlene for organizing the trip for us! We had lots of fun!

how fun! we need to do that too and have been saying that for years LOL. maybe this spring break, we'll do it!
Oh, I would love to do something like that with Clinton. The closest AmTrack to us is Memphis (3+ hrs. away). But I'll have to look around and see what else they have.
What a fun day with the kids!
FUN FUN...Mrs. Courtney looks GREAT...trains are a GREAT way to travel around Europe too and even us big kids like to take the train to and from all these festivals...MUCH MUCH safer too.
